The authority is encouraging 16 and 17 year old's to apply for some of the roles it has on offer.
The Borough Council says it has a range of job opportunities available this summer across a range of the services it provides, and that it's keen to receive more applications from younger people.
In the latest residents news letter the council says :
"If you have a 16 or 17-year-old in your household, or you know someone who does, here’s something which may be of interest to them.
Scarborough Spa is recruiting catering assistants and supervisors, general services assistants, and event bartenders (you’ll need to be aged 18 or over to serve alcohol).
As well as earning cash throughout the summer break, there’s the chance to learn new skills, gain extra experience and have something valuable to add to a CV."
Right now, the Council are recruiting for a number of roles including:
- A cultural project development officer
- A monitoring officer as part of the CCTV team
- Seasonal town centre welcome ambassadors
- A seasonal chef for Farrer’s Bar at Scarborough Spa
- Event bartenders at Scarborough Spa
- Seasonal catering assistants at Scarborough Spa
- Seasonal catering supervisors at Scarborough Spa
- General (domestic) service assistants at Scarborough Spa
The authority is also advertising three trainee roles on behalf of their auditors Veritau.
