Scarborough Athletic Face Financial Challenge of Playing Home Games in Bridlington

Scarborough Athletics' Chairman is asking fans and sponsors to continue supporting the club as it faces playing it's home games in Bridlington for a good part of next season.

Problems with the Scarborough Sports Village pitch have led the club to enter a ground sharing arrangement with Bridlington Town.

Trevor Bull says that presents challenges with revenue generation.

"We'll be talking to sponsors over, over the coming weeks and and seeing how they can help us.

We'll be looking to get season tickets on sale as quickly as possible because anybody that went to the forum recently will have understood how our finances work, we have to build finances up at the start of the season to, to kickstart the season, season tickets are and sponsorships are a massive part of that. And we're, and we'll be organizing our normal kit launches as well.

So a priority apart from getting the ground ready is we've got to regenerate our income streams because quite frankly we need to raise some money."

Trevor says that playing home games in Bridlington will put pressure on Scarborough Athletics finances.

Trevor says playing in Brid will present a number of financial challenges.

"Our whole business plan is centred around playing football at Scarborough Sports Village through advertising, through revenue, through the bars and catering and everything else. We immediately lose all that, that is a concern.

So you know where people can help. If you can buy your season tickets early, if you can continue with your sponsorships, we'll be looking to organize some money raising activities across the summer. So please support them.

Buy your shirts when they go on sale, and let's get them revenue streams going.

But most importantly come along to matches when we start playing because it helps the team, it helps us financially. We need to get as many people down the A 165 to Bridlington as we can to see matches."
