Local self storage business Mylockup.com is collecting donations of items to help Ukrainian refugees.
The company is collecting various items at it's locations across the north of England which will then be driven to Poland to help the relief efforts.
The team are looking for donations of the following items.
They ask that these are bagged and labelled with contents/size etc, all food items and toiletries must be new and unopened.
The firm's MD, Kevin Doyle, is arranging distribution to Poland, Kevin says:
"The self storage industry is taking action.
In this business we are used to dealing with people in distress. Although not usually on this level.
I am freshly back from a self storage conference in Austria where we discussed using our nationwide self stores as drop off points. The whole industry is pulling together to help these poor souls. The response so far has been magnificent.
Our aim is for a full Self Storage convoy of aid laden vehicles to travel to Poland where our Polish friends, LessMess Self storage will kindly stock and distribute our items to some of the 900,000 or so Ukrainian families who have so far arrived in Poland.
We may not be able to get to Putin but our hearts and generosity can get to the Ukrainians.
There are managers of Storage facilities all over the country unloading and sorting and repacking, toiletries, clean clothing and bedding , non perishable foodstuffs etc.
We should be so proud of our staff and our industry.
Thank you all"
Then company ask that if possible anyone wanting to make a donation contacts their local branch to arrange drop off just to make sure the site manager is available to store securely as soon as your items arrive.
The local branches can be contacted on:
- Bridlington 01262 722123
- Cayton Low Rd Scarborough 01723 282200
Scarborough donations can also be dropped at No Limits Martial arts on Victoria Rd between 10am - 12noon and 4pm -7.30pm Mon - Fri or 10am - 12 on Saturdays.
