The Coastal Views study was carried out by Haven, who say 80% of people look for a sea view when booking accommodation.
The Cornish town of St. Ives came top in the study, followed by Robin Hood's Bay in second place and Padstow in Cornwall taking third spot.
Filey also featured in the top 30, placing 17th.
Haven say booking accommodation with a sea view is vital to 30% of people looking for a staycation.
People are also willing to travel to get a great coastal view, with the average distance travelled being 159 miles.
