Passengers on board the Becca-Marie were treated to a rare Minke Whale sighting and an even rarer aerial display from the summer visitor.
Passengers on board the wildlife trips on the boat will usually spot seals near Gristhorpe and Porpoise too. And if they're lucky some Bottlenose Dolphins. But today a Minke Whale stole the show.
Even Stuart Baines from the 'Scarborough Porpoise Facebook Page', who took his own pictures from Marine Drive, admitted he'd never witnessed a breaching Minke Whale, despite spotting them many times in local waters.
Thank you to Becca-Marie Sealife Safari for allowing us to share these fin-tastic images!

Last night, we filmed our footage of a Minke Whale feeding off Saltwick Bay just a few hundred yards off Whitby Lighthouse.
Minke Whales are regular visitors to the Yorkshire Coast in the summer months with peak season being around August.
