An action plan to combat the issues following the fire on Belmont Road has been drafted up after the public voiced their opinions at an open meeting last week.
The disused hotel caught fire in July and residents who had been affected by the fire were able to hear from the council about the next steps that would be taken.
Councillor Rich Maw believes that the meeting offer residents the transparency that they needed.
A statement on North Yorkshire Council's website confirmed that the road would remain closed until 30th September.
"Due to the unsafe nature of the building North Yorkshire Police have asked for Lower Ramshill Rd and Belmont Rd to be closed until further notice"
Emergency services were called to the incident on Belmont Road just after 1am in the early hours of Sunday 16 July.
Fire Crew from Scarborough and Filey were mobilised to reports of a fire inside the disused hotel. On arrival crews quickly requested additional fire appliances as the building was well alight.
At its peak 10 fire appliances, 2 aerial ladder platforms and a water bowser attended the incident.
Rich Maw confirmed that action could be taken in the next few weeks following the public meeting.
