Officers are appealing for information about an assault that occurred in Eastfield, near Scarborough.
It happened on Dunn Grove at 5pm on Tuesday.
Following the incident, a 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault. He was interviewed, charged and remanded in custody.
Police are appealing for information about anybody who may have witnessed this incident and particularly appealing for an individual who is believed to have intervened at the time.
