North Yorkshire Police are reaching out to the public following two separate collisions involving pedestrians in Scarborough, both occurring on Saturday evening (6 December 2025)
Although both victims were treated for minor injuries and swiftly discharged from hospital, officers are keen to piece together the full circumstances of the incidents.
The first incident occurred earlier in the afternoon, at 4:15 pm, on North Marine Road, close to Cooplands Bakery. This collision involved a pedestrian, who was a woman, and a red van. The woman received treatment at the hospital before being discharged.
Just hours later, at 7 pm, a second collision took place on East Road, at the junction with Elder Road, near Kingpin Bowling. This incident involved a white Skoda Octavia taxi and a male pedestrian. The man was taken to hospital, where he was treated and subsequently discharged following treatment.
North Yorkshire Police confirmed they are currently appealing for any witnesses to both collisions.
Regarding the taxi incident, police stated:
“We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision, anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact us”.
Officers are making a similar appeal regarding the van collision on North Marine Road, requesting assistance from anyone who may have witnessed the event or seen the vehicle beforehand.
The force is specifically asking the local community in Scarborough to review any available dashcam or CCTV footage that might have captured details of the incidents.
