North Yorkshire Police are currently investigating a series of thefts from vehicles in the Scarborough area.
Over the past week, multiple reports have been received of vehicles being entered, with money and possessions stolen. The incidents have primarily occurred on streets off Seamer Road and into Crossgates.
PC James Turner from Scarborough’s Response Team Two is one of the officers involved in the investigation. He said,
“We are asking for help from our communities. Our investigations involve asking for witnesses and doorbell, dash cam, and CCTV footage. If you have seen suspicious behaviour on your street, especially in the middle of the night, please call us.”
PC Turner also advised residents to double-check that their vehicles are locked, park in well-lit areas, and ensure alarms are activated.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the police at 101 or provide information via the North Yorkshire Police website.
Anonymous reports can be made through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
