A new £15.5 million multi-storey car park offering 426 spaces and an hour of free parking in Bridlington will be officially opened on Monday to help boost town centre footfall.
Shoppers, workers, and visitors will soon have access to hundreds of new parking spaces when a major multi-storey facility opens in Bridlington this Monday.
The £15.5 million development, located between Manor Street and Hilderthorpe Road, will officially open its doors to the public on the 9th of November at 3pm. The site offers 426 parking bays, which officials say will significantly increase town centre capacity.
Drivers using the new multi-storey will be able to park free of charge for the first hour. The facility also includes 31 dedicated accessible bays, which have been placed to ensure convenient entry and exit for those requiring them.
The new parking site has been placed in a prime location to provide instant pedestrian access to Manor Street, Hilderthorpe Road, and the wider Bridlington town centre.
According to East Riding of Yorkshire Council, the multi-million-pound investment is intended to boost footfall in the area and relieve local traffic congestion. Council officials state the project will support local businesses throughout the year and serves as a key piece of the wider town centre regeneration strategy.
The striking new building is set to add a notable feature to Bridlington’s skyline. Its high-quality design takes inspiration from ocean waves, featuring distinctive twisted fins that reflect the town's coastal setting.
Councillor Anne Handley, the leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, will officially open the facility alongside local council representatives, community leaders, and project partners during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday afternoon.
