A series of workshops have been put in place to help local people and businesses in Scarborough to cut carbon emissions and save on energy bills.
North Yorkshire Council are working with York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise partnership to deliver a programme which will help tackle climate change.
They've allocated £780,000 towards the work of creating a programme to help improve community climate action as well as business based programmes to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions.
Executive Member for Managing our Environment - Greg White - hopes that local people will be able to find a way to reduce their carbon footprint.
The sessions will be held in Skipton, Selby and Scarborough with the first session for the 'Developing Business Net Zero Programme' arriving on the Yorkshire Coast on May 30th, from 3pm to 5pm at Sea View Conference Room, Scarborough Town Hall.
The first 'Developing a Community Climate Action' programme is also held on May 30th but is from 9:30am to 12pm.
White says that people who attend the workshops will be able to have a say in how the programmes are shaped.
