North Yorkshire School Attendance Numbers Revealed

The numbers of pupils attending North Yorkshire's schools during lockdown is broadly inline with the levels experienced at the end of the first national lockdown last year.

Primary and Secondary schools remain open for vulnerable children and the children of key workers.

Stuart Carlton is North Yorkshire's Director of Children and Young People’s Services he says the preliminary numbers show around 16% of pupils are attending school but there are differences, especially between primary and secondary schools.

While the county's schools remain open for those pupils who need to be there and for the children of Key workers, Stuart Carlton asks those parents to make an individual decision about whether or not their child attends schools.
