District and Borough Councils say they are working with businesses to ensure a safe reopening next week.
Shops, pubs, gyms, hairdressers and restaurants in England will be able to reopen from next Monday (12 April).
Initially pubs and restaurants will only be able to serve people sitting outside.
Self-catering holidays will be allowed, and people will again be able to travel around the country.
The confirmation of the date for the next stage of the governments roadmap out of lockdown was announced by the Prime Minister at a press conference on Bank Holiday Monday.
Tony Clark represents North Yorkshire's district and borough councils he says they are working with businesses to ensure a safe reopening.
Mr Clark says there have been a number of changes to planning rules to help make the reopening easier.
Boris Johnson also confirmed a new traffic light system for international travel - but he has warned people it is still too soon for the government to commit to allowing holidays abroad.
On the government's roadmap back to normality, foreign trips are banned until 17 May at the earliest.
But at Monday's Downing Street coronavirus briefing, Mr Johnson said:
"Obviously we are hopeful that we can get going from 17 May, we are hopeful..."
but he went on to warn people to "be realistic" and said: "We're not there yet."
