North Yorkshire's policing and fire chief has had her say on devolution for the area.
Commenting on the devolution agreement signed on 1 August, North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Zoë Metcalfe said:
“Devolution is an amazing opportunity for North Yorkshire and York and for greater integration and collaboration between our public services, improving outcomes for our communities.
“My Team and I are already fully engaged and supporting the discussions between our Councils and Ministers to ensure a successful transition.
“I look forward to building a devolution deal that is right for every community and the Services across North Yorkshire and York and which delivers on my priority of keeping people safe and feeling safe.”
