Firefighters from Whitby, Danby, Lythe and Robin Hoods Bay attended an area of moorland measuring 100 x 50 metres on fire.
They were called out just after 7.30pm on Saturday evening.
It comes as hot weather continues to create a substantial fire risk across the country.
The area will be revisited by officers across the weekend.
