Scarborough and Whitby MP, Alison Hume, says the area is attracting significant government investment.
The MP says she is looking forward to being part of the new neighbourhood board which will oversee the use of the recently announced 20 million pounds of funding over the next ten years.
Last month it was announced that Scarborough will receive £2 million a year for the next ten years. The funding is part of a wider investment of £1.5 billion in communities across the United Kingdom, with 75 towns, including Scarborough, set to benefit.
Earlier in the year the Yorkshire Coast again feature in Government spending plans with news that an area South of Cayton could become home to 2,500 new homes through an accelerated building programme, the new housing site would include new transport links, greater educational opportunities and green spaces.
Alison Hume has welcomed all the investment and says she is working hard to secure more funding for the area.
