Following the completion of a training course last week, North Yorkshire Police now have nine newly-qualified drone pilots.
The force uses drones to assist with searches for missing people or suspects, or capture images of crime scenes, major incidents and road collisions, among other important tasks.
North Yorkshire Police have been using drones since 2018. The drones use thermal imaging technology and are able to take photographs and videos.
The image below was captured by a Police drone and helped recover a stolen vehicle near Pickering.

Last month North Yorkshire Police's Chief Drone Pilot captured a great shot of some amazing sand artwork on Scarborough's South Bay Beach.
The drone was taking images to assist with the forces planning for the Scarborough Armed Forces Day national event, when it captured the Red Arrows inspired artwork.

North Yorkshire police say the addition of nine more drone pilots means the force will have more capability to put 'eyes in the sky' to help keep people safe.
