Whitby Town are back in training and their experienced new centre-half gave his first interview since joining the club.
38-year-old Gary Liddle joined from Spennymoor Town- manager Nathan Haslam's first signing of the summer.
Middlesbrough-born Liddle started out with his hometown club, before making over 300 appearances for Hartlepool United, as well as stints at Bradford City, Carlisle United, Chesterfield and Notts County.
He told Whitby Town TV what he'll bring to his player-coach role with the Blues:
Liddle has been part of an NPL Premier winning side as recently as 2022, with South Shields.
He feels this experience can only help the team:
The Blues start their friendlies on Saturday at home to NPL East Bishop Auckland, in the Tony Lee Memorial Cup, with a 1pm kick-off, earlier than usual due to the England v Switzerland Euro 2024 Quarter Final.
