Age Concern on the Yorkshire Coast is looking for more volunteers to support it's befriending service.
The North Yorkshire Coast and Moors branch of the Charity says it is seeing a big increase in demand for the service.
Tracey Armstrong is the groups volunteers co-ordinator.
Age Concern says there has been a big increase in demand for the befriending service in the local area in recent weeks.
Tracey says they are now looking for more volunteers to help deliver the service over the winter months.
Age Concern say that the Befriending Service ensures that isolated older people receive regular social contact with well-trained volunteers adding:
"we can bring human contact to those who need it most. Our volunteers are often matched to those with shared interests, and it is our shared goal to improve the wellbeing of anyone visited by a befriender."
