A historic pub in Robin Hood’s Bay has applied for a premises licence ahead of a planned reopening later this year.
The Dolphin public house in King Street in Robin Hood’s Bay is seeking a premises licence from North Yorkshire Council.
The property’s history dates back to the 1600s and is set to reopen as a pub by the end of the year, according to its new owners.
The pub has been shut since March 2020, when it was forced to close due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Its new owner, Dave Brown, recently said that he is hoping to open “in some form, at least for drinks, by Christmas”.
The application, which has been submitted to North Yorkshire Council, proposes the sale and supply of alcohol for consumption on and off the premises.
It is also seeking permission for “regulated entertainment, including live music and the playing of recorded music”.
The proposal is currently open to representations and members of the public who want to comment on the plans should contact the council by Thursday, November 20.
Anyone wishing to make representations regarding the application should give notice in writing to: North Yorkshire Council, Licensing Services, Town Hall, St Nicholas Street, Scarborough, YO11 2HG or by email to licensing.east@northyorks.gov.uk.
