There were queues outside many food establishments across Whitby on Saturday, bringing a boost to the local economy.
Whitby's Swing Bridge is closed to traffic across the whole weekend.
With Halloween coinciding with Goth Weekend this year, combined with some autumnal sunshine, Whitby was heaving with visitors this afternoon.
Many who were dressed up were stopped by curious members of the public and asked to pose for photos.
The 199 steps looked more like a packed escalator, a sea of people heading up and down.

Parking in town was hard to find. There were long queues for a Park & Ride bus.

Local businesses told us it was great to be so busy, but it was also proving hard to keep up with demand for some.
