Bridlington Town have confirmed three more signings for the next league campaign.
Following announcements on Sunday that Michael Coulson and Tom Allan will be staying at Bridlington Town next season and striker Jake Day is returning to the club, Town have today revealed three more names that have committed to the club for next season.
Ahmed Salam who has played for Bridlington on loan will be joining the club on a permanent basis for the 2025/26 season
Head coach Mike Thompson said:
“A familiar face…. but this time he’s ours.
"I’m really happy to have Ahmed signed on with the football club this season. We loaned Ahmed from Alfreton Town in 2024/25 but this year we have managed to pry him away from the National League North outfit.
"Ahmed was a player last season that, once we had him fit and understanding how we wanted him to play, he really showed his quality.
"Ahmed scored two in 22 from midfield last season but more importantly since I came in, he assisted 13 and that was pivotal in our run-in to safety.
"The assists for all of Michael Coulson's hattrick away at Heaton Stannington was rather impressive and we want to see more of this coming into 2025/26.
"Ahmed was one right at the top of my list in relation to midfield and we had to be patient with him being contracted with Alfreton Town but I’m happy we can say we got our man!”
A youth product of Hull City, Salam made 22 Bridlington Town appearances last campaign.
The club have also announced that Will Annan is returning to Bridlington Town for the 2025/26 season.
Head coach Mike Thompson said:
“I’m delighted to announce the signing of Will Annan from champions Cleethorpes Town. Will and Jake day were my first conversations with lads that were external to the football club and to get Will in for our new look squad is superb news for the 2025/26 season.
"I tried to bring Will in on loan the week I came back to the club in January and it couldn’t be done but I’m really happy that he’s a Bridlington Town player now.
"Will scored nine goals in 41 games during Cleethorpes Town's title winning season and we know exactly what Will brings.
"Our final third is really starting to take shape and we are really looking forward to working with them all. Like all our signings this season, Will was just as excited to be here as I was to bring him in and that’s important to us this year and moving forward… the signings we make are thought about and only lads that will improve us.”
The attacker played for the club under Brett Agnew, before departing in 2022 for the Owls, where he has spent three seasons.
Today's announcements also include news that Matty Dixon has been retained for the 2025/26 season.
Head coach Mike Thompson said:
“It was really important for me to get Dicko committed early. He is the only player I brought in last season (other than loan signings) and it was purely because he’s a player I know, a player I trust and someone who is uber reliable.
"Dicko knows the level and having worked with me previously in 2022 I was keen to get him in from North Ferriby last season and he didn’t disappoint.
"Matty will be our engine room this season. He will be a player that makes us tick and he regularly goes about his business quietly but always consistent in what he does.
"Dicko is also so versatile and when losing Charlie Winfield at the back end of the season after being recalled to Worksop Town, Matty stepped in at left back and never once looked out of place.
"I’m really happy to start the season with Matty in 2025/26, another player that knows what it will take to the play the way I want us to play.”
Dixon entered his third spell with the club when signed in January, and has made a total of 107 appearances for the Seasiders.
