Free Family Open Day At Scarborough Fire Station Promotes Community Safety

Families are invited to a free open day at Scarborough Fire Station to meet local emergency services and community partners.

A free family open day will take place at Scarborough Fire Station, on Saturday, offering residents the chance to meet local emergency teams and learn about community safety.

The community event is running from 11am until 4pm. Entry to the fire station is completely free for all attendees.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the facility, ask questions, and discover more about the daily operations of the emergency services.

A spokesperson for the event said:

"Come along to meet the team. You’ll be able to chat with staff from across the service, find out more about what we do, and enjoy activities and find out information from a wide range of local partners."

A wide variety of local partners will join the fire service on the day to provide information and host activities.

Emergency and rescue services will have a strong presence, with participating organisations confirmed so far including the RNLI and North Yorkshire Police.

Charitable and community support groups will also be on hand to speak with the public. These include We Care, the Samaritans, Stroke Warriors, and the Age UK NYCM Veterans Hub.

Animal and environmental groups will be represented as well, with Caring for Critters and Forestry England joining the lineup for the open day.

Road safety and sustainable travel will feature prominently throughout the event. Representatives from ARNY advanced motorbiking, the IAM institute for advanced motoring, and Sustainable Travel from North Yorkshire Council will be available to share their expertise.

Organisers are encouraging local residents to attend the weekend event.

They added:

"Bring the family, have a look around, ask questions and learn more about keeping safe. Pop it in your diary we’d love to see you there!"
