The moorland blaze near RAF Fylingdales could have a serious effect on local nature.
Experts say it'll take 'years' for greenery and habitats to recover from the ongoing Langdale moorland fire.
The blaze has been ongoing since 11 August and got worse on Bank Holiday Monday.
Emergency services remain on the scene with some evacuations nearby.
Dr Briony Fox is from North York Moors National Park:
"The fire deep down in the peas that's reignited and coupled with the warm, windy weather.
"It's really moved quite quickly over the last couple of days, and it'll also take quite a while for, you know, the animals to come back to the area as well."
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say to avoid the area and follow road closure notices.
