Will North Yorkshire be treated as one area or could the Scarborough Borough find itself in a different tier?
The next review of the COVID tiers in England is due to take place tomorrow.
Up to now it's been the case that York and North Yorkshire has been treated as a single entity. The entire area is currently classed as Tier 2.
But with infection rates in the Scarborough Borough having been significantly higher than elsewhere in the county over the last few weeks there is still the possibility that the Borough could end up in a different tier to the rest of the county this week.

Richard says that up to now York and North Yorkshire have been treated as a single entity, but there is nothing to say that arrangement has to continue.
