The seven day COVID infection rate for the Scarborough Borough has increased again.
Yesterday the latest data showed the number of cases per hundred thousand people stood at at 158 today it's 170. It's below the English average of 192 but is the highest figure in North Yorkshire.
The data includes cases in the seven days up to December 11th.

Newby & Scalby and West Whitby have had the highest number of confirmed cases in North Yorkshire over the last seven days.

Meanwhile, registered weekly deaths involving Covid-19 in England and Wales have fallen for the first time since the start of September.
Office for National Statistics figures show 2,835 death certificates mentioned coronavirus in the week ending the 4th December, that's a decrease of 7 percent on the week before.
