Firefighters on the Yorkshire Coast had a busy night shift on Wednesday 16th October, responding to a range of incidents in Filey, Scarborough, Whitby and Egton.
Filey

- Later in the night, at 00:29, crews from Filey and Scarborough responded to a fire in a bedroom at a residential property. The fire, which involved a mattress and duvet, was also out on arrival. Firefighters dampened down the area and isolated the property's electrics. Two casualties were left in the care of ambulance crews for precautionary checks for smoke inhalation.
Scarborough

Fire crews from across North Yorkshire, including Filey, Scarborough, Malton, Knaresborough, Thirsk, York, Acomb, Ripon, Bedale and Harrogate also responded to numerous automatic fire alarms, all of which turned out to be false alarms.
