Bridlington Town Football Club have announced the permanent signing of nineteen-year-old former Scarborough Athletic midfielder Billy Marshall as they target a play-off push.
Bridlington Town Football Club have confirmed the permanent signing of highly-rated nineteen-year-old midfielder Billy Marshall.
The arrival of the versatile, box-to-box midfielder at Queensgate is seen as a significant coup for the Seasiders. The club reports that they successfully beat several regional rivals to secure his services for the upcoming campaign.
Manager Scott Kerr is continuing to shape his squad for a competitive season ahead, with Marshall expected to inject further energy, competition, and technical quality into the heart of the Bridlington midfield.
Marshall arrives on the Yorkshire Coast boasting an impressive footballing pedigree. The teenager spent his early formative years developing within the respected academy setup at York City, before making the transition to National League North side Scarborough Athletic.
The young midfielder is known for his high work rate, tactical intelligence, and an exceptional passing range.
Bridlington Town manager Scott Kerr expressed his delight at securing the talented teenager. He said:
"Really looking forward to getting Billy in. He’s a very talented player with a good passing range, and we are looking forward to seeing him develop and help us kick on as a group."
Speaking shortly after finalising his move to Queensgate, Marshall made no secret of his desire to help push the Seasiders towards the business end of the league table.
According to the club, the midfielder stated that while the ultimate goal is to go all the way, a sustained push for the play-off positions is firmly the target for the squad this season.
Marshall will link up with his new teammates in due course as the squad builds towards the upcoming campaign.
