Tom Algar and George Harrison could make debuts for Bridlington today as they face Consett at Queensgate.
Bridlington Town will play host to Consett AFC today, It’s the second game at Queensgate this week as the Seasiders progressed to the semi-final of the East Riding Senior Cup, beating Hall Road Rangers 4-0 in midweek.
Lewis Dennison netted a brace with two composed finishes to make it five goals from his four-game goal streak.
James Williamson made it two goals in two games having scored his first goal of the season in the game before.
Similarly, Nick Hutton scored his second wonder goal in five days, having netted his first goal for the club last weekend.
Ali Aydemir and Matty Dixon were both rested as precautions midweek, so they will come back into the squad for Saturday’s game.
Duo Tom Algar and George Harrison, who joined on dual-registration from York City last week, will also be available to make their debuts, so Adrian Costello will have a selection headache trying to pick a 16-man squad.
Eight goals in the last two games is certainly silencing the critics that were saying the Seasiders were lacking a goalscorer - with their last league game ending in a much needed 4-2 win away to Carlton Town.
It was Bridlington Town’s first away win since Consett AFC themselves, which ended in a 3-2 victory.
Matt Broadley gave Town the lead with his only goal of the season so far after a brilliant run. Consett equalised just before the break through Zak Atkinson, but Jack Bulless and Benn Lewis both netted goals from corners to earn the three points.
When the last teams met, Consett occupied a playoff position, but have since dropped to 10th with 34 points, four points and four places ahead of Bridlington Town.
Contrary to the hosts picking up back-to-back wins, Saturday’s visitors have lost their last two games. On the road to North Shields, they lost 1-0 on Wednesday night, following a 2-1 defeat away to Worksop Town at the weekend.
