North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue assisted a man who had fallen six metres from a bridge in Whitby, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
It happened just after midnight on Bridge Street in the town.
Crews from Whitby, Lythe, Danby and Malton responded to a report of a male who had fallen from a height of six metres (nearly 20 feet) from a bridge onto the sand bank below suffering unknown injuries.
Firefighters located the male resting on the water's edge approximately eight metres from the water.
They assisted in moving the casualty to a safe location and handed him over into the care of ambulance crews.
