Whitby Town remain in the NPL Premier Division relegation zone after a draw at bottom club Belper, on Saturday.
The Seasiders fell behind on six minutes but quickly levelled through former Scarborough Athletic and Bridlington Town striker Jake Day, who fired home a stooping header.
A defensive mix-up then put Nathan Haslam's men ahead just before half-time. Priestley Griffiths tried his luck from 40 yards with the goalkeeper somehow letting the ball through his hands and into the net.
However, Day turned villain with nine minutes left, conceding a penalty with a rash challenge, which was duly converted.
The draw means Whitby stay in the bottom four as rivals Stalybridge Celtic and Lancaster City also drew- Nantwich Town climbed above them with a shock win at Radcliffe.
