The local fire brigade were called to a bird-related issue in Staithes, on Sunday evening.
Around 7.45pm, a crew from Lythe attended a report of a chimney fire on High Street in the village.
Officers used a hose reel adaptor, chimney rods and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
They believe it was due to a bird's nest in the chimney.
