The borough now has the lowest average infection rate in North Yorkshire
The seven day average infection rate in the Scarborough borough stands at 287 cases per 100,000 people down from 566 two weeks ago.

Decreases in the figure have also occurred across the rest of the county but nowhere has the fall been as dramatic as in the Scarborough borough which has seen a 43% decline in the last two weeks.

The latest figures say there are an average of 50 new COVID cases a day confirmed in the borough. The NHS say there are 19 patients with COVID in Scarborough Hospital.
The North Yorkshire average infection rate is now below the English average, having been above the all England Rate for a number of weeks. The North Yorkshire figure now stands at 419, the all England figure is 447.
