It was the biggest Armed Forces Day in Yorkshire and crowds flocked to Scarborough to see military parades, stalls and air displays.
Squadron Commander Toby Watkins was representing RAF Fylingdales at the event.
He says that the public have more understanding of the armed forces because of recent conflicts:
