There's a trial train route for New Years Day using two semi-fast services into Whitby from Darlington and Middlesbrough.
Taking in one of the most picturesque routes across the UK - Northern will be operating services from Darlington and Middlesbrough to the Yorkshire Coast.
Alan Williams is the chairman of the Esk Valley Railway Development Company and explains why the idea came about.
He goes on to explain the route and why you should consider it.
