Yorkshire Coast Cricket Round-Up

There was action up and down the Yorkshire Coast on Saturday with Whitby, Scarborough and Bridlington all at home.

Brid had a welcome return to form in Yorkshire Premier North 2, thumping Londesborough Park by seven wickets at Dukes Park.

The visitors chose to bat first and posted 227/9 in 50 overs, with Adam Newington taking 3/42.

Brid then eased to victory with ten overs and seven wickets in hand, with Jordan Baker making a scintillating 108-ball 109 not out.

In the same division, Folkton & Flixton were well beaten at home by Carlton Towers.

They chose to bat first with wicket-keeper Cameron Anderson anchoring their 178 all out with a superb 74-ball 69.

Carlton got home comfortably with just two wickets down.

Scarborough were routed by Championship East leaders Welton at North Marine Road.

The away side batted first and posted an imposing 312/6 from 50 overs, with two wickets each for Hayden Williamson and Sam Carver.

Williamson then scored with 27 as Boro slumped to 113 all out.

Pickering lost to Brandesburton as their promotion hopes were hit hard again.

The visitors made 213/9 from 50 overs with Andrew Sharman taking 3/8 at the end.

Sharman then made 63 but his side fell well short after being skittled for 153.

Malton & Old Malton bucked the trend with a 41-run win at Pocklington.

Malton made 207 all out mainly thanks to Dave Brannan's 87.

Adam Spaven and Josh Dawson then took four wickets each as Pock were dismissed for 166.

South Holderness beat Driffield Seconds by five wickets.

In North Yorkshire South Durham Division Two, Whitby and Rockliffe Park shared the points.

Whitby put the Middlesbrough side in to bat first, with the visitors to the Turnbull Ground making 305/8 declared.

Mike Thompson took 5/72.

In reply, Whitby made sure they batted the overs out to make 272/7- the in-form Rhys Buck making 72 and Chris Knight 64.
