Yorkshire Coast Cricket Round-Up

Scarborough won a thriller at Hornsea as another full programme of cricket played out on the Yorkshire Coast.

Boro batted first in their Championship East trip.

Ben Squires led the way with 86 at the top of the order.

Scarborough posted 207 after being bowled out in 48 overs, Taj Clarke took 5/38 and Adam Newington 3/25.

Squires then took 4/34 as Boro pressured Hornsea, who made useful contributions down their batting order but fell ten runs short in the end.

Elsewhere in the division, Folkton & Flixton continued their bright form with a 48-run win at leaders Driffield 2nds.

Brooklyn Manyemba starred with 55 from 62 balls opening for the villagers.

Owen Goldsworthy took 5/64 for Driff as the visitors posted 223/9 from their 50 overs.

Skipper Goldsworthy made 93 in response but no-one else could reach 20 as Driffield lost by 48 runs.

Seamer & Irton also had a terrific victory.

Gregg Chadwick reached 69 and Gary Lawton an unbeaten 55 as Seamer were skittled for 203 at home to Brandesburton.

The away side then staggered to just 65 all out with Caeleb Potter took 5/26 and Lawton 3/23 to secure a 137-run success.

Wykeham were comfortably beaten at South Holderness.

Holderness posted 264/7 from their 50 overs, with two wickets each for Frank Brewis and Harry Amstell.

In Yorkshire Premier 2, Bridlington also suffered a heavy defeat.

They were bowled out for 229, at Dukes Park, by Welton.

Skipper Casey Rudd top-scored with 57.

The visitors then strolled home with eight wickets and more than ten overs in hand.

In North Yorkshire South Durham Division Two, Whitby had an 83-run win at Darlington 2nds.

Tom Steyert's men were asked to bat first and posted 247/6 from 50 overs.

Rhys Buck made 83 and Chris Knight 75.

Darlington were then bowled out for 164, with Steyart taking 4/59 and two wickets each for Michael Thompson and Matthew Sharpe.

In Yorkshire Premier North, Driffield enjoyed a five-wicket victory at Hull Zingari.

George Drury took 5/44 and Russ Robinson 3/40 as Zingari were skittled for 202.

Alec Drury then stroked 88 not out as Driff got home with six overs to spare.

In Championship Central, in-form Pickering beat Selby by 67 runs.

Andrew Sharman made 100 exactly as Pykes posted 223 from exactly 50 overs.

Selby were then dismissed for 156 as Dan Hardey, Kieran Bowes and Joe Harland took three wickets apiece.   

Malton & Old Malton returned to winning ways in the same division.

Shaun Harland's 5/36 helped Malton restrict hosts Pocklington to 226/9 from their 50 overs.

Harland then blasted 94 and Charlie Allot 67 as Malton raced to a six-wicket victory inside 36 overs.
