Scarborough Athletic has announced a new pre-match hospitality event being held in partnership with Bridlington Rugby Club.
The collaboration aims to offer an exclusive matchday experience for supporters travelling to attend the club's upcoming home fixture against Marine on October 25th.
The event will take place at Bridlington Rugby Club, which is situated next door to Bridlington Town FC.
The exclusive matchday experience is priced at £30 per person and includes a two-course meal, a programme, and a Q&A session with Jono Greening. Match tickets for the game are additional to the hospitality cost, and groups of all sizes can be catered for.
Chairman of Scarborough Athletic, Trevor Bull, highlighted the importance of generating diverse revenue streams and emphasized the mutual benefit of the deal with the rugby club.
Mr Bull confirmed that hosting the hospitality is part of wider efforts to sustain the club:
"We've got to be thankful for a lot of other income streams that we've been doing.
So sponsors, a lot of sponsors have stayed with us. That's really important to point out.
The no battle, no victory fund that that's ticking away nicely. So thanks to all those members. We got some new 2025 members and of course all those buying shirts as well.
It all helps and we're trying different things. We're hosting pre-match hospitality at the rugby club in a few weeks time. So if anyone can come and take part in that would be great.
All helps our campaign to keep our Club going."
Trevor noted that the partnership reflects a collaborative spirit among sporting organizations along the coast:
"We've done a very advantageous deal with the rugby club.
They're looking to help us as well. Obviously, they'll make a bit of money out of it as well, which is only fair. But of course, we'll make a good amount of money out of that day as well.
So, yeah, if people are thinking they can support us by coming to hospitality, they absolutely can.
I think there's a little bit of a siege mentality because our clubs, whatever sport, we're isolated out here on the coast. So, it's really important that we all stick together and hopefully in years to come when we get ourselves back into Scarborough, we can return the favour."
Supporters who wish to book their place for the pre-match hospitality event can email rhiannon.hunt@scarboroughathletic.com for more information.
