Whitby's Fish and Ships Festival Concludes in Style Today

Whitby Fish and Ships 2024 comes to an end on Sunday and we have a full list of what's going, where and when.

Sunday 19 May 2024 Seafood Kitchen Marquee, Dock End

Hawsker Fish Craft Marquee, Endeavour Wharf

Enjoy filleting and cooking demos, net mending and pot sewing, crab and lobster dressing, and hands-on activities from Whitby Lobster Hatchery. Find out more about the history of fishing in Whitby with giant display boards, and watch a sea to plate video.

Museums Marquee, Endeavour Wharf Get crafty! Take part in crafty workshops with Whitby Museum, Pannett Art Gallery, The Cook Museum and Whitby Library, enjoy tabletop games and test your eye for beach finds at the beach fossil hunting tray.

Dogwood Productions Dogwood Productions will be presenting two new shows – “The Chip Shop Chronicles”.

Each performance will last around 30 minutes, with puppetry workshops between shows.

Made in Whitby and Whitby Brewery will be bringing toe-tapping music from local bands to get you in the party mood!

10am Marquee opens

4pm Marquee closes Whitby Bandstand, Pier Road

Sing along to sea shanties and traditional folk music with Whitby Sea Festival.

Street Entertainment

Animated Objects will be on walkabout aboard their land-based galleons while Fisher Lassie Bidi Iredale will be entertaining festivalgoers with fishing songs and tales from long ago, plus Hook and Smee will be on walkabout duty between 11am - 3pm.

Local exhibitors and stalls Browse the stalls along Dock End and pick up some artisan goods and local produce including homemade jams, tempting tipples, artisan cheese and local spirits.
