Youngster Sam Collins added a consolation for Whitby late on.
Haslam told Whitby Town TV his side weren't humbled and had some bright spells, particularly in midfield but conceded five "catastrophic" goals:
The Blues host Guiseley on Tuesday night in NPL Premier, kick-off is 7.45pm at the Towbar Express Stadium.
