Whitby Town Enjoy Trophy Success

The Blues' impressive pre-season continues after a 4-0 victory on Saturday.

Named after their former manager, for both themselves and their opponents, Whitby Town beat Bishop Auckland 4-0, in the inaugural Tony Lee Trophy tie on Saturday.

Brad Fewster opened the scoring on 17 minutes for Nathan Haslam's men.

That's how it stayed until half-time.

The returning Junior Mondal then netted twice in close succession early in the second half.

Jacob Gratton, a summer signing from Belper Town, then scored his first-ever Whitby goal, four minutes from time.

The playmaker converted from the penalty spot after Jos Storr was tripped in the Bishops box.

Haslam spoke to Whitby Town TV after the game:

Town are next in action on Tuesday at another Northern League First Division side, Guisborough Town.
