Improvements made to Whitby Town's pitch over the summer are paying dividends according to the clubs Chairman.
Whitby Town's Chairman says investing in the Turnbull Ground's pitch has made a massive difference to the club.
Ivor Homer says improvements made to the playing surface ahead of the season have meant the club hasn't missed any fixtures so far this term.
The club launched an appeal in February to raise funds to help improve drainage and resurface the Turnbull Ground Playing Surface, saying that the work would include a new drainage system being installed and a sand-based turf being put in place, "helping to drastically improve the playing surface ahead of the 2024/25 campaign".
Ivor Homer says the work was needed after the club lost a number of games last season due to pitch issues.
Lost fixtures last season cost the club in excess of £25,000, money which the Chairman says they can't afford to pay out again this season.
Ivor says getting new pitch maintenance equipment, thanks to contributions from sponsors, has helped the club ensure the playing surface remains useable, he says the contributions by sponsors and fans alike has helped.
