Whitby Town Manager - Nathan Haslam - has ruled himself out of the race for the vacant manager role at Darlington.
There was speculation this week linking Haslam with the role vacated by Alun Armstrong.
Darlington say they have had 30 applications for the role, Haslam says he's not one of them.
In an update to fans this week National League North side Darlington said:
"We have received around 30 genuine applications for the role, and we have been very encouraged by the quality of the applicants, who have a wide range of experience in the game. The deadline for applications is 5pm Monday night.
We are now at the point of starting interviews of our shortlist."
Darlington are currently at the foot of National League North, they parted company with manager Alun Armstrong and assistant Darren Holloway at the start of the month with David Johnston, Chair and CEO, saying
“Having looked at results since the start of 2023, when we were top of National League North and in particular the very poor start to the current season, we were unanimous as a board that a change needed to be made. It is a decision that has not come easily. We are sure that all fans will join us in thanking Alun and Darren for their time at Darlington FC and wish them well for the future.”
Nathan Haslam joined up with Whitby's management team ahead of the 2020/21 season after resigning from his position as manager of Whitley Bay, he became joint manager of the club in September 2020 taking sole charge in September 2022.
