600,000 metres of rowing will be taking place in Whitby today.
The Friendship Amateur Rowing club are using their rowing machines to clock up enough miles to row from Whitby to Norway.
The challenge is a fundraiser for suicide prevention charities.
Marc Wilson from the club says they've done a lot of preparation:
The event is raising funds for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide and the #TalkSuicide campaign.
PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide it provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline.
As well as fundraising on the day the Rowing Club have set up a JustGiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/emma-cassie
However, Marc says fundraising in only part of it:
