A team of keen rowers are going to cover the distance between Whitby and Norway for charity.
A group of Whitby rowers are aiming to row to Norway for charity.
The team from the Friendship Amateur Rowing club wont actually leave the town though - they will be completing the distance on rowing machines as Marc Wilson explains.
A team are preparing to row the distance from Whitby to Norway as part of an event to raise funds for suicide prevention charities.
The club members will be undertaking the 600 kilometre challenge next month.
Marc says they are being well supported.
The club say that:
"Everyone is welcome to help us complete our challenge...individuals, local sports clubs, local organisations, rower or non-rower - whoever you are, we would LOVE for you to join us. "
The event will take place on Sunday March 6th, starting at 10am and will be raising funds for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide and the #TalkSuicide campaign.
PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide it provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline.
