Whitby Hammer High Flying Bamber Bridge After Brilliant 1st Half Performance

The victory was Whitby's first at home in the league this season and lifts them out of the relegation zone.

After 5 defeats at home this season, Whitby had the best start possible with Aaron Haswell scoring Whitby's first within 60 seconds of the match starting.

Whitby attacked from the kick off and a defensive mix-up gave Haswell an empty net to fire into.

On 22 minutes, some great play out wide from Jake Hackett saw him find Brad Fewster to calmly rollit past the keeper to make it two.

Harrison Beeden made it three before half time, from a Hackett corner.

Bamber Bridge had the chance to pull level before the break but keeper Shane Bland had other ideas, making a great save.

The visitors had an opportunity to start clawing their way back into the game after being awarded a second half penalty but they struck the post and Whitby saw out the remainder of the match to secure 3 valuable points in front of the home faithful.
