The cast of this year's Scarborough Spa pantomime, Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood, have come together in costume for their official launch day ahead of the festive season.
Preparations for the upcoming festive season are officially underway as the cast of Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood gather for their first official meeting.
Scarborough Spa buzzed with excitement this week as actors donned their costumes for promotional photography ahead of the highly anticipated Christmas production.
The characters of Sherwood Forest truly came to life against the backdrop of the town's stunning coastline and the historic Scarborough Castle, giving audiences a tantalising glimpse of the fun and adventure that awaits.
The classic tale will be brought to the stage by a star-studded cast, featuring familiar faces from popular television shows and the West End stage.
The villainous role of the Sheriff of Nottingham will be played by the acclaimed singer and actor Lee Mead.The household name is widely known for winning the talent show Any Dream Will Do, and has enjoyed an impressive career spanning musical theatre, television, and live performance.
Joining him on stage to bring courage, charm, and adventure to the role of Maid Marian is actress Katie McGlynn. She is well known to television audiences for her prominent roles in beloved dramas including Coronation Street, Waterloo Road, and Hollyoaks.
The official cast day provided a fantastic opportunity for the actors to meet their fellow cast members and see everyone together in costume for the very first time.
Organisers noted that plenty of laughter, energy, and festive spirit were on display throughout the promotional events.
The upcoming production promises all the traditional ingredients of a classic family pantomime.
Audiences can expect a story full of adventure, featuring laugh-out-loud comedy, dazzling costumes, spectacular musical numbers, and plenty of audience participation.
Packed with larger-than-life characters, the show is set to continue the Spa Theatre's proud tradition of delivering high-quality family entertainment during the Christmas holidays.
Venue representative Hannah Morris shared her enthusiasm for the upcoming pantomime season.

Festive outings for families, friends, and theatre lovers of all ages will run at the Scarborough Spa from the fourth of December 2026 until the third of January 2027.
