The lasers will be visible in Scarborough, Whitby and Flamborough from tonight.
A Laser light show will be taking to the skies of the Yorkshire Coast this evening.
The Light up the Coast event is being organised by the Yorkshire Coast BID. It will see laser lights project into the sky from various locations along the Yorkshire Coast.
Organisers say:
"From Scarborough Castle you will be able to see the projections on the castle as well as the lasers from Scarborough Lighthouse – all the way down to Spurn Point. Fingers crossed for a clear night, and you will be able to see all of the different laser shows from up and down the coast!"
Testing for the event appeared to be taking place last night with some impressive displays from Scarborough Castle.
And from the harbour light house
There will be laser shows taking place in sync at these Lighthouses and Landmarks:
- Whitby Abbey
- Withernsea Lighthouse
- Scarborough Lighthouse
- Flamborough Chalk Tower
- Spurn Point
- Scarborough Castle – This will be the main event
The shows will be taking place from 7pm until 9.30 pm in 20-minute intervals, on the 2nd-3rd and 9th-10th of December, with spectators from up to 25 miles away expected to be able to see the lasers on a clear night.
