Scarborough Athletic have parted company with a popular midfield star ahead of a trip north on Saturday.
Boro say Simon Heslop has left the club after receiving an offer from a side in the division below.
Heslop was part of the squad that took them to promotion to National North, through the play-offs, in May, last year.
Scarborough Athletic released a statement on their website on Friday evening:
Hessy leaves the club, with whom he has been training with over recent weeks during pre-season, on the best terms and we wish him the very best with his new club.
Thank you for your contribution to the club on and off the pitch for the past two seasons, Hessy.
Boro go to Guisborough where they face NPL Premier Marske United, on Saturday, in their final friendly before the big kick-off, at Peterborough Sports, in National North, next Saturday, 5th August.
