The works are required after a sink hole developed in the pavement.
Whitby Town Council says that urgent highway works will be carried out by North Yorkshire Council's Highways Services on Bridge Street in Whitby adjacent to Hadleys Fish & Chip Shop where a sink hole has developed in the footway.
The works will be taking place from Monday 15th to Wednesday 17th July between 9am-4pm.
The council says
"Pedestrian access will be maintained and traffic will be under manually controlled temporary signals which will work in tandem with the harbour team & bridge operatives to ensure their requirements are met for the operation of the Swing Bridge."
